Salsa time…

Sweet mother of mercy, look at that bounty. I did this. I grew these. It’s almost like birthin’ babies. And this is only a smidgen of what I’ve pulled off my plants. I’m tellin’ ya people, it pays to plant a tomato or two. Or in my case, twelve.

And my peppers….so proud. They grow up so fast, don’t they? It’s almost time to see them off to the pickling jar…

    54! I wish I had the room for that many…my twelve only produced enough for a few meals, a few jars of salsa and one batch of spaghetti sauce. Still proud though. Yes, will post the recipe soon.

    We (mostly me) got a little crazy with the tomato plants this year…54 plants turned into 91 quarts of various tomato based home canned product. Plus, we shared with friends and family too. Wouldn’t be great to have fresh produce from the garden all year long? Did make some salsa, but would love to have your recipe!

    Nice photo taking.
    Roasted tomato salsa that doesn’t require lots of chopping? What about roasting? You talkiing oven or BBQ? Sounds really good. I’ve got a cravin’ for huevos rancheros.

      Make sure you pick that plethora of tomatoes you have out there and hand ’em over – I’ll turn them into magic for you. Or, if you want, I can post my recipe for an easy, roasted tomato salsa that doesn’t require lots of chopping?
